For many who are familiar with Punggol will know that the development is far from complete.
There are still many plots of vacant lands towards the Punggol North where SIT university and digital district will be sitting.
Not forgetting the Punggol East where there will be easily 5-7 more estates that will be coming progessively over the years.
The addition of this commercial office and retail space looks to me as a very small single tower, perhaps to house some gov functions to oversee the support of the nearby digital district.
The nearest plot of pure commercial land in the North East region, shown in dark blue color in the URA space, will be located next to Serangoon MRT.
Currently the large space has been used to build showflats of nearby property launches. But yet so far, there is little news about when and what is going to be coming up.
Perhaps more future developments will be announced only after the Hougang MRT interchange has become operational when the Cross Island Line is completed and more population are living in the North East region.
